Meet Mrs. Saleeba

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year and to my Ferrum Elementary's 5th grade website! I am excited to meet you and your child and to embark with them on their journey through their last elementary school year.
I was born in Richmond, Virginia and grew up in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. I graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School in 2000 and went on to Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. There, I majored in Elementary Education with a concentration in music and graduated in December 2005. I accepted my first teaching job in January of 2006 at Lawsonville Avenue Elementary School in Reidsville, North Carolina where I taught first grade for three and a half years. In July of 2009, I moved up to Rocky Mount Virginia with my husband and daughter. In August of 2010 I began my career at Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy as the first and second grade teacher. It was in 2010 that my husband and I also welcomed the birth of our son. I taught at SMLCA until November of 2014. In August of 2015, I continued my teaching career by accepting a position in 5th grade. The 2017-2018 school year will be my tenth year teaching overall and will be my third year at Ferrum Elementary.
